In Dulci Jubilo - History

In Dulci Jubilo is a non-profit foundation that was established in 1978 by one man with a vision. That man was Ted Rosenkranz, who graduated from Berkeley High School in 1939 and spent much of his life in the merchant marine. Ted wanted to do something to make his life more meaningful, so he established In Dulci Jubilo to enhance the quality of life in his community by encouraging, inspiring, instructing and helping young people enrolled in Berkeley's pre-school, primary and secondary schools to develop values beneficial to the community.

Ted created IDJ with the intent to encourage discussion, development and adoption of values in the areas of ecology, ethics, aesthetics, hygiene & general education with the aim of enhancing each child's feeling of self worth as well as furthering an appreciation & recognition of worth in others, and in the environment in which we live.

IDJ welcomes and encourages your contributions and financial sponsorships. We want to further the work of Ted Rosenkranz, and create a foundation whose goals & objectives can make small dreams come true. Financial contributions are tax-deductible, and sponsorships start at $35. Prior to his death in November of 2001, Ted created an endowment fund for IDJ so that all administrative expenses for the organization are covered. This means that 100% of all donations from community members go directly to IDJ funded projects.
