In Dulci Jubilo - Supported Projects

In Dulci Jubilo is a non-profit foundation established in 1978 for the benefit of young people enrolled in Berkeley's schools to develop, during their formative years, values beneficial to our community. Our organization supports a variety of activities that are meant to encourage discussion, development, and adoption of values in the areas of ecology, aesthetics, ethics, and general education with the aim of enhancing the self esteem of children.

Below are some of the projects that we are involved with and support ---

For over 25 years, the Board of In Dulci Jubilo has been awarding mini-grants to teachers and administrators in Berkeley's public schools.  If you work in the Berkeley Unified School District (or with Berkeley public school students) and have a project that will spark the love of learning in our students, you are invited to submit an application for funding.
  • Project Scope: Must be for the benefit of pre-school, primary or secondary students in Berkeley.

  • Grant Size: Grants are currently limited to $750/year per teacher or organization.

  • Funding Cycle: IDJ will no longer be considering new proposals during the remainder of 2007.

Also, In Dulci Jubilo and the Berkeley Branch of the California Writer's Club co-sponsor an annual creative-writing contest for fifth graders. The contest is announced each January and the deadline for entering is April 1st.  Stories must have no more than 1,000 words, be original and creative, and be the student's own work.  Entries are not accepted directly from students or parents, but must be submitted from classroom teachers.
