Spelling Bee Competition

 

   In Dulci Jubilo supports teachers in East Bay schools in encouraging young people in grades 3 - 7 to participate in this annual event.  The deadline to register your school in the official competition is December 1, 2007.  Each school's Spelling Bee Winner must be registered with the San Francisco Chronicle by January 31, 2008, in order to be eligible to participate in The SF Chronicle's Written and Oral Spelling Bee competitions in the Spring of 2008.  The Chronicle will send the winner of its Oral Bee to compete in the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in June 2008.

 

Shown are the winner and runners-up of the San Francisco Chronicle's 2005 Spelling Bee.  In the back row are the judges.   Aliya Deri, of Pleasanton, went on to represent the Bay Area at the 2005 National Spelling Bee competition in Washington, DC,  and won second place!!
